Those of you who follow #GamerGate know about their attempt led by Arthur Chu to eliminate Section 230 of the Communications Disclosure Act, the law that allows Web 2.0 and social networking to exist by protecting companies from liability for user generated content.  Such a law makes sense because if someone wrote graffiti on another person’s garage that named a person and accused them of child molestation, it does not make sense to hold the owner of the garage liable for that.  Despite widespread opposition, it’s clear that #Anti-Gamergate, and Arthur Chu in particular, do not intend to give up this absurd quest.

I’m happy that Anti-#GamerGate is continuing to fight against Section 230.  This is the same mistake that led to the creation of #GamerGate when gaming journalists decided to censor all discussion about Zoe Quinn and declare gamers to be over and misogynists.  Anti-#GamerGate was already a problem for the online rights and privacy crowd with their false DMCA complaints.  What Anti-#GamerGate is doing now is a declaration war against online rights and privacy.  Anyone who cares about online rights and privacy such as the Electronic Frontier Foundation isn’t going to accept the loss of their rights on the internet.

We’re on the way the #Section230Gate or something like that since Arthur Chu and the rest of Anti-#GamerGate won’t stop.  This will be a major disaster for feminism, but bigger than #GamerGate, because this is the start of attacking mainstream political groups.  Feminists will accuse the EFF and similar groups of being misogynists which is obviously absurd to any thinking person.  And Facebook and Twitter and other social media companies will have to defend their businesses against feminism or die.  (Many social media companies will end up committing suicide.)

Just as feminism’s war on gamers led to feminism’s war of online rights and privacy.  Feminism will declare war on communities adjacent to online rights and privacy advocates.  Whoever those adjacent communities end up being, they will be mainstream leading many more men who never thought about feminism to discover the ugly truth about feminism.  Feminists won’t stop even though it is in their best interests to do so just as they should have never attacked gamers.  Think of how many men would still be pro-feminist without #GamerGate.  The same thing is about to happen over and over again since feminists aren’t smart enough to know when it is in their best interests to shut up.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) wants the Anarchist Cookbook banned from the internet.  She clearly has no idea how the internet works if she thinks that’s possible.  Also, the Senator clearly doesn’t believe in free speech.

In addition to being impossible, this will draw the ire of online rights and privacy advocates.  How will Sen. Feinstein get around this?  By declaring the Anarchist Cookbook to be misogynist.  Many people who support individual rights will gladly give that up if a woman complains.

This is why one of the next battlefields of fighting feminism has to be online rights and privacy.  Otherwise, we will all lose our freedom and privacy online due to feminists and manginas on a witch hunt for “misogyny”.

Anti-#GamerGate has already made three major mistakes.  All three of these mistakes had one thing in common.  They pushed people who didn’t care about #GamerGate firmly into the #GamerGate camp.  Anti-#GamerGate is in the process of making its fourth and fifth major mistakes which will have the same effect.

The fourth major mistake Anti-#GamerGate is making is flooding somewhat related websites with anti-#GamerGate and feminist women in tech propaganda.  Slashdot, a website for technology news, is a good example.  A while back Slashdot started posting a lot of anti-#GamerGate and feminist women in tech nonsense.  Initially, the attitude of the readership at Slashdot agreed with the anti-#GamerGate and feminist position.  However, the constant drumbeat of anti-#GamerGate and women in tech propaganda had the effect of reversing the views of the Slashdot readership as can be seen with the comments to Slashdot stories like this one.  When anti-#GamerGate talks about #GamerGate or feminist women in tech nonsense, the effect is to generate more #GamerGate supporters.

Anti-#GamerGate’s fifth major mistake is going after archive sites using false DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) complaints.  While this will piss off the owners and backers of archive sites, what anti-#GamerGate is doing is much bigger than that. The DMCA is something that the online rights crowd has been fighting since among other things it allows for this sort of abuse.  Most of the online rights crowd either doesn’t care about #GamerGate or believes the feminist lie that it’s all about misogyny.  This will cause many of them to get an education and become #GamerGate supporters.  It also adds a new angle to the Zoe Quinn situation because she has been using false DMCA complaints to shutdown criticism of her making it that much harder for her supporters to use the lie that Zoe Quinn is a victim of misogynerds.

What is happening with both of these major mistakes is that anti-#GamerGate and feminists are pushing into adjacent communities who either were neutral or supported them and turning many members of those communities hostile to them.  They should stop doing this since the effect is the same each time they do it, but they can’t seem to help themselves.
