It’s the time of the month to select a new Entitlement Princess of the Month. Last month’s winner with 55% of the vote was the unnamed woman who said she should get free money so that she can focus on art and “having fun”.
The Entitlement Princess of the Month can only keep going with your support so keep submitting new entitlement princesses on the Entitlement Princess of the Month submission page.
Because of #GamerGate, this month there is going to be no voting. Originally, I was going to give this month’s Entitlement Princess award to Zoe Quinn alone. She deserves it for cheating on her boyfriend, who she emotinally abused, with 5 different guys just to promote her crappy video game about depression especially since she said that infidelity was equivalent to rape. However, with gaming journalism’s attempt to defend itself and Zoe Quinn, not to mention Anita Sarkeesian’s latest antics, I have to expand the recipients of this month’s award. This month’s award is going to Zoe Quinn, Anita Sarkeesian, anyone who defends the two of them, and anyone who tries to accuse gamers of being misogynists to hide the corruption in gaming journalism.
The entitlement princessry these people are guilty of comes down to 2 main categories, demands for special privileges and hypocrisy. For example, Anita Sarkeesian is pissed that people don’t automatically believe women when they make accusations:
Sarkeesian also thinks that if she shoots a woman in a video game, she can use this to attack male game developers:
On the hypocrisy side of things, the defenders of Zoe Quinn, Anita Sarkeesian, and gaming journalism are particularly odious such as saying that male gamers are worse than ISIS. The most damning hypocrisy was when they made death threats against a 10 year old boy who disagreed with them while being up in arms over the death threats that Sarkeesian allegedly received (which are likely to be fake).
I don’t have time to document why this group of people deserves the August 2014 Entitlement Princess Of The Month award, but this should be enough.
